We show you the most balanced format that we have been able to find in Old School, and one of the most attractive without a doubt: 7pts Singleton.

Why play 7pts Singleton?:

– There are no forbidden cards (except Ante cards)
– The decks are very balanced as they all have power limited to the deck’s score.

RULES:

60 cards exactly Singleton deck except for basic lands

No Sideboard

Other than Ante cards, no card is banned. However, to balance the format, some cards have been handicapped using a point system. You cannot exceed 7 points per deck. The current Point list is:

4 points:

Ancestral Recall, Sol Ring


3 points:

Black Lotus, Braingeyser, Demonic Tutor, Fireball, Library of Alexandria, Mind Twist, Mox Emerald, Mox Jet, Mox Pearl


2 points:

Armageddon, Black Vise, Disintegrate, Land Tax, Moat, Mox Ruby, Mox Sapphire, The Abyss, Time Walk


1 point:

Balance, Channel, City in a Bottle, Control Magic, Dark Ritual, Hymn to Tourach, Karakas, Mana Drain, Mana Vault, Maze of Ith, Mishra’s Workshop, Recall, Regrowth, Sylvan Library, Timetwister, Triskelion, Wheel of Fortune, Winter Orb


93/94 Legal sets & Reprints:

Alpha, Beta, Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Legends, The Dark, Fallen Empire and the following 3 promo cards dated 1994: Arena, Sewers of Estark and Nalathni Dragon

All reprints with original artworks are allowed including Unlimited, IE/CE, Revised, Renaissance, 4th, 5th, … Promos, Gold borders championship, Time Spiral, …

All languages are allowed

Proxies are allowed. We encourage the use of easily recognisable proxies


MTG rules:

Modern MTG rules apply including the London mulligan (ie: you draw 7 and put X cards underneath your library where X is equal to the number of times you’ve mulliganed)

Mana Burn applies (note: Mana Burn is a loss of life, not damage.)

Dice roll to determine play/draw including in Top8


Card Errata:

Ring of Ma’ruf:

can go fetch any card that you own from exile or any card from outside the game that is not already included in your deck. This new card can break the 7 points limit.


Falling Star:

can be flipped onto up to 2 creatures of your choice (you only flip once. If you use dices, roll once for each target)

Chaos Orb:

can be flipped onto up to 1 non-token permanent of your choice (can be destroyed or bounced in response to its activation)

Os presentamos el que hasta la fecha nos parece el formato más equilibrado que hemos podido encontrar en Old School, y uno de los más atractivos sin duda: 7pts Singleton.

¿Por qué jugar 7pts Singleton?:

– No hay cartas prohibidas (excepto las de Ante)
– Los mazos son muy equilibrados al tener todos el poder limitado a la puntuación del deck.

Las reglas de construcción son muy sencillas:

  • Sets legales de Old School 93/94: Alpha, Beta, Unlimited, Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Legends, The Dark, Fallen Empires y las siguientes cartas promo del 94: Arena, Sewers of Estark and Nalathni Dragon
  • Todas las reimpresiones con dibujo original, marco antiguo y no foil están permitidas incluyendo:CE/IE y Gold borders championship
  • Mazos de 60 cartas sin banquillo
  • Una sola copia de cada carta excepto por las tierras básicas
  • Las cartas legales y reglas son las usadas en Old School Eternal Central
  • Las cartas de Ante están prohibidas
  • Tu deck solo puede tener 7 puntos cómo máximo. ¿Qué cartas valen puntos? Son las siguientes:

4 Puntos: Ancestral Recall, Sol Ring

Puedes crear cualquier baraja siempre que sumen como mucho 7 puntos de esta cartas. ¡Las posibilidades son infinitas!

Algunas reglas del juego a tener en cuenta:

  • Se usa el London Mulligan.
  • Se aplica el «mana burn» (quemadura de maná).
  • Los decks NO pueden contener más de 60 cartas.

Erratas de cartas:

  • Ring of Ma’ruf: Puedes buscar cualquier carta legal en el formato que esté fuera del juego y no esté incluída en el deck. Esa carta puede romper el límite de los 7 puntos.
  • Falling Star: Puede lanzarse solo sobre una o dos criaturas.
